I was hoping to try this POS online editor, but it fails to link my yahoo account to a new jumpcut account. See where the red guns are pointing? That info should be coming from yahoo, but it’s not. Tech support was magnificent: “The most likely cause is a bug involving special characters in your Yahoo! Profile. You may want to try reentering your Y! Profile using only characters found on a standard US QWERTY keyboard.”. The only thing is that there are none. Back to kaltura.

I’d also like to thank fotoflexer for not having arrows, which made me point stuff with guns. Very safe!!!

UPDATE: I finally got it to work, but before that I created 4 jumpcut accounts that got no connection at all to my yahoo account, and became inaccessible forever. Lucky me to have spare forwarding email addresses because the system wouldn’t let me use the previously registered ones to create more and more jumpcut accounts. I created a new yahoo profile, left most of the fields blank and set it to default, then it worked. I take back the previously stated “POS“, jumpcut looks pretty neat.

not having hspda support is unexcusable. go back to the lab and come out only when you have that! will I have to buy a blackjack 2 “again” to have some decent speed?

A Claro lançou um serviço interessante, mas numa plataforma do passado. Agora algo previsível é que a nova plataforma da google, o android, vai usar justamente isso que está faltando: uma forma de geograficamente ver os seus contatos. Recentemente o google maps lançou a função “my location”, que triangula a posição das antenas e chuta sua localização aproximada. Agora monte um sistema operacional novo e coloque essa função de localização atualizando em intervalos curtos, e através do app skypop atualizando o servidor e seus contatos:

Ontem mesmo eu liguei na Claro para ativar mais uma conta de blackberry BIS na minha família e aproveitei para cancelar o Claro Localizador. Atualmente acho o sistema operacional do blackberry, o melhor que existe. Tenho um iphone, mas eu acho horrível. Google android parece uma plataforma beeem promissora!

I use Google’s mobile version of the services I use on my desktop daily and these are my primary complaints:

Google Calendar: why can’t I run a search on my appointments?

Google Documents: spreadsheets are hell to work with as HTMLs, the one time I tried to download the xls I got an error 500 message and gave up since the data I needed was deep into the document.

Google Reader: this is by far the most useful mobile online app, but all I can do is read, star it and mark items as read. Once it’s marked as read it’s gone forever, so mark wisely. Litefeeds has some nice functionality, it let’s you even tag a post on del.icio.us, but I didn’t like the feel of the mobile java app, it needs some polishing.

Maybe there are workarounds for this complaints I’m sharing, but trying to figure it out on a mobile device is something complicated. Even google groups is out of reach to lend a hand.

O orkut cresceu muito desde que eu comecei a visitar o site. Muitos recursos novos foram acrescentados recentemente, o que o torna ainda mais divertido! Meu favoritos recentes são as fotos e os scraps (recados) ricos em conteúdo, a aparência redesenhada, a privacidade do scrapbook, capaz de acrescentar até 100 fotos ao álbum de fotos e a disponibilidade do Orkut em 5 idiomas indianos regionais. Estou sempre ansioso para descobrir o que vem a seguir.

Desde quando scrapbook é privado? isso eu apoio, mas por aqui nada, só se for na Índia. E não é a primeira vez que o orkut indiano tem novidade, que aqui não tem.

Nunca mais fui alugar desde os tempos de blockbuster. Devo ter uma multa por atraso na devolução que incentiva minha abstinência pelo aluguel de um pedaço de plástico. BitTorrent garante meu suprimento de bons filmes e seriados de qualidade e com muito mais agilidade do que os próprios estúdios. HD-DVD e nem bluray são bons argumentos para que eu volte a dar meu dinheiro para a indústria cinematográfica. Eu sei que é errado, mas não sou eu quem vou impedir. O modelo está errado. A distribuição do conteúdo do disco tem que ser priorizada.

Uma coisa nova que a Americanas.com está fazendo é intermediar a venda de produtos que ela não carrega em estoque, por exemplo, suplementos alimentares. A amazon já faz isso com agilidade, mas isso depende da tecnologia de gestão de estoques do parceiro, já que a americanas com certeza tem uma das melhores gestões. Por enquanto o que eu posso dizer é que eu testei e foi um lixo. Comprei um produto dia 05 e estou com previsão de entrega só para o dia 12. Não existe informação nenhuma no status do meu pedido a não ser “encaminhado para o sistema de gestão de estoque”, e isso tá escrito lá desde o dia 05!!!!! Parceiros=gargalos.

I tried to see a presentation in an older email I received but the “view as slideshow” link did not show up *weird*.

Enquanto a localização acontece, aparece uma mensagem em tela cheia no celular:
“Solicitação em andamento”

E logo em seguida o mapa é mostrado com as coordenadas:

Não consegui entender pelo mapa da Claro onde é que meu celular foi localizado, entao copiei as coordenadas e colei no Google Maps.

Eu estava na verdade a uns 4km de onde o mapa da Claro dizia que eu estava, e não 600m. Na figura o marcador no topo da página é o da Claro, e o de baixo é a minha real localização no momento do teste.

Testei novamente em SP e só em um dos dois testes é que a minha localização foi realmente próxima da Real, na região da Sé.

Realmente fica difícil confiar num negócio que funciona mal assim, mas pelo menos nem é muito caro.

There was an issue going on before the upgrade and it persisted. After having the phone on for some hours, it eventually jams itself without looking like a dead device that needs a reset. You only realize it’s jammed when you try to call someone, it says it’s dialing, it stays like that for some time, and after you hit cancel it just ignores your existence. Calls won’t come through when it silently jams itself like that too. I actually remember having this problem on a QTEK I had once. I can only come to one conclusion: that’s just what microsoft could come up to bring to your pocket: crashes. After powering the phone down and back on it resumes normal operations.

I´d also like to add that after the upgrade I couldn´t change my voicemail number anymore. I have to dial *100 manually. I can´t access the menus where it used to let me change that number, now it just says “The settings could not be opened”.

I’m looking forward to the windows mobile 6 basic upgrade from Samsung ! I know they’ll have some nice noticeable improvements, but I’m really counting on the silent jam glitch gone.
